Appointments & Bookings

How do I book an appointment?

You can easily book your appointment online via HotDoc using the booking buttons on our website, or by calling our friendly reception team directly at (08) 9245 1912.

Do you accept walk-in patients?

Priority is always given to patients with scheduled appointments. Walk-in patients will be triaged by our nursing team to determine the urgency of their medical needs and will be seen within an appropriate timeframe based on medical priority.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide a minimum of two hours’ notice. Patients who do not attend their appointment or cancel within the two-hour window will incur a DNA (Did Not Attend) fee.

Do you offer Telehealth consultations?

Yes, we offer both phone and video telehealth consultations (via Healthdirect Video Calls) for your convenience. Please note that telehealth consultations are charged privately at the exact same rates as standard face-to-face appointments.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we are currently welcoming new patients! Joining our practice is simple and can be done entirely online.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to your first visit.

Do you have a reminder system for appointments & tests?

Yes, a text will be sent out two weeks before the reminder is due.

Can I get a repeat prescription without an appointment?

Standard repeat prescriptions can be requested online through HotDoc (add link) for a fee of $31.47.

However, you will need to book an appointment with your regular doctor if any of the following apply:

  • Regulated Medications:Any scripts for restricted or regulated medications.
  • Extended Scripts:Yearly or 60-day dispensing scripts.
  • Time Elapsed:You have not seen your doctor in person within the last 3 months.
  • Specific Medications:The request is for blood pressure medication or the contraceptive pill.

Please note: To avoid running out of your medication, please ensure you book your follow-up appointments well in advance where applicable.

Fees & Billing

Are you a bulk-billing practice?

The Woods Medical Centre is a private billing practice. Full payment is required immediately following your consultation, after which we can process your Medicare rebate on the spot. Please see our fee page for more information.

Do you offer any discounted rates?

Yes, we care about keeping healthcare accessible:

  • Children under 12 and DVA cardholders are bulk-billed.
  • We offer reduced concession fees for eligible Pensioner, Health Care Card, and Seniors Card holders, as well as full-time students.
  • Driving medicals for patients aged 80 and over are bulk-billed.

In addition to comprehensive family medical care, our highly qualified GPs have special interests and advanced training in:
  • Advanced Skin Cancer Clinic
    Including Total Body Photography (regular mole scanning), diagnostic biopsies, and surgical mole/lesion removals (including complex flap and graft procedures on the head, neck, ears, and nose on-site)
  • Travel Medicine
    Comprehensive consultations and travel vaccinations. We are a fully accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.
  • Women’s Health
    Including Mirena insertions/removals and menopause health assessments.
  • Chronic Disease Management & Support
    Personalised care plans for long-term well-being.
  • In-House Procedures
    Iron infusions, ingrown toenail treatments, and standard immunisations.

How do I get my test results?

For security and privacy compliance, we follow a strict electronic communications policy:
  • Urgent Results
    If your results require urgent attention, a doctor or clinic nurse will contact you directly by phone.
  • Non-Urgent Results
    You will receive a secure SMS notification when your results have returned. Depending on the outcomes, you may be requested to book a follow-up appointment.
