Beyond general care, we offer advanced skin cancer detection and treatment, using state-of-the-art technology like Total Body Photography for thorough assessments. For your global adventures, we also provide Travel Medicine services and proudly operate as an accredited Yellow Fever Centre.

The Woods Medical Centre

Est. 2008 by Dr Angie Barker

Our centre was established in 2008 by Dr. Angie Barker, who recognised a need for family medicine that truly values the individual, a focus she felt was often overlooked in corporate settings.

Dr Barker combined this belief with her expertise in Skin Cancer establishing our centre as a hub of excellence for Skin Cancer Medicine.

We are dedicated to upholding Dr Barker’s legacy by prioritising every patients’ well-being above all else – ensuring everyone has access to a family doctor who can support them throughout their entire health journey.

We are here to support you, whether it’s for routine check-ups, specialised medical services, or preventive health strategies.

Our GPs are highly qualified, each in their own area of expertise. We have full-time nursing support available to our team of doctors, allowing many services to be delivered in-house.

We are currently accepting new patients and look forward to continuing to care for our existing ones.

We are a Privately Billing Medical Centre

We offer reduced fees for eligible pensioners, Health Care Card holders, Seniors Card holders, and for children and full-time students. Children under 12 will be bulk billed. Note that some services may require extra fees.

DNA (Did Not Attend) fees will apply to patients who cancel their appointments within two hours of the appointment time.
Telehealth and Telephone consults will be charged privately and in line with the face-to-face fees.

Emergency GP Appointments available

Walk-in patients without appointments will be triaged to determine urgency. Priority is given to patients with scheduled appointments. Please inform the receptionist if your matter is urgent.

We know that the nature of health needs is that they can be unexpected. We always try to ensure we can see you within an appropriate timeframe. Life may be unpredictable, but we make sure you can depend on us to be there for your care.

Healthdirect video consultations offer a convenient way to connect with your doctor from the comfort of your own home. This means you can save time and travel costs and still receive the quality care you need. All you need is a compatible device with a camera and internet access to attend your appointment virtually.
