At The Woods Medical Centre, we’re dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare. We invest in advanced equipment, highly trained staff, and a welcoming environment to ensure you receive the best possible care.

Medical Fees

The Medicare rebate doesn’t fully cover the cost of providing comprehensive medical services. That’s why an out-of-pocket cost applies. This allows us to continue offering thorough consultations (rather than quick, single-issue appointments), comprehensive skin cancer screenings, specialised travel health services, and quality general practice care without compromising our standards. This allows us to maintain excellence and ensure our practice remains sustainable for our community.

Kindly note, full payment for your consultation is due immediately upon completion, which allows for the processing of your Medicare rebate.

We bulk bill children under 12 and DVA cardholders. We also offer reduced rates for pension card holders and other eligible patients.

Our highly qualified doctors bring extensive experience across general practice, skin cancer detection & treatment, and travel health services. Our consultation fees depend on the complexity and length of your appointment.

Medical Assessments

(Employment, HUET, etc.)

All medical assessments are privately billed and not eligible for Medicare rebates.
Fees start from $150.00 + GST and vary based on complexity.

*Multiple Biopsies:
When multiple biopsies are taken in a single visit, Medicare’s rebate lessens for each additional biopsy. Similarly, your out-of-pocket cost (the “gap”) for the second and subsequent biopsies at our centre will also be reduced.

**Skin Procedures:
The out-of-pocket cost for skin procedures typically ranges from $129.00 to $500.00, depending on the location, type of lesion, and whether a flap or graft was required. Full payment for the procedure is required before we can process your Medicare rebate.

Please note: The aforementioned fees do not include pathology costs which are separate to our fees. This is usually fully covered by Medicare.

Payment and Medicare Rebates

For patients with Overseas Private Health cover, full payment is required after your consultation.

We’ll provide a receipt for you to claim reimbursement from your health fund.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least two hours notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.

Online Repeat Prescriptions

(existing patients only)

This service is exclusively for patients who have previously received the prescription from a doctor at The Woods Medical Centre.
You can request multiple medications per request.
We do not provide repeat prescriptions for addictive medications, including benzodiazepines and opiates.
Your regular doctor will review and approve or decline your request based on clinical grounds. If declined, you will be advised to book an appointment.
Repeat prescription requests are generally completed by your regular doctor. If your regular doctor is on leave, you may need to book an appointment.
Your doctor may not issue a repeat prescription if they haven’t seen you recently or if it’s for a 60 day supply script
A fee of $30.25 is payable at the time of making the request via HOTDOC.
Please allow several business days for your request to be processed.
If you require an e-script, please indicate this in the prescription request notes.
