What is MyMedicare?

MyMedicare is a new voluntary patient registration model. It aims to formalise the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner and primary care teams. Find out who is eligible and how you can register.

How to Register for MyMedicare?

You can register for MyMedicare using your online account or with your general practitioner. You can change or withdraw at any time.​​ Registration for My Medicare is voluntary and free.

Enhanced Continuity of Care

Patients registered with My Medicare experience greater continuity of care with their chosen practice, resulting in improved health outcomes.

Extended MBS-funded Telephone Calls

Patients can take advantage of longer telehealth consultations funded by the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) with their registered practice.

Improved Aged Care Support

Starting in August 2024, residents of aged care facilities will receive more frequent visits from their general practitioner and enhanced care planning.
